This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Free Motion Quilting a Sampler »

Instructions

Love Leah Day! Used the bobbin washer and learned to bury the threads.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Whimsical

Materials

The design is on polyester (like silk), couched yarn, fused organza on silk and silk fusion (bird's breast). The backer is Kona cotton, the batting is wool. The threads are silk, rayon and superior brand "BottomLine" for the majority of the free motion quilting.

What was your inspiration?

Leah Day free motion quilting designs.

What are you most proud of?

Actually, i kinda like the back and have ordered a ton of bright color threads from Superior Brand.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

There are no mistakes, perfection doesn't exist....i'm a beginner who doesn't care...i just go for it and if i hate it, its gets trashed. Actually, i usually just re-make/cover over the mistakes...over and over again. Learning to love thread painting in any form.

What a difference varying the bobbin thread color makes!

This is very cute! I like the "feather" type quilting in the background. Very nice!
