Cake recipe from Wilton, Marshmallow fondant recipe from Wilton, candy and Chocolate tackle.

What was your inspiration?

When making the Wedding Cake my step daughter informed me that she recieved a phone call from my grand daughter telling her she cancelled the fish shaped cake she had ordered and would she please ask Nana to make something for the groom. The Groom love fishing and I came up with the Tackle Box Design as I knew time was something I was short on. It was a double layer chocolate cake on the bottom and the top rest on a cardboard sheet held in the open position by two dowels to the front. The cake is covered in fondant, the fish is carved from one layer of cake and covered in tinted fondant. Tackle is Gummy worms, and other tackle is made from molding fondant into the shapes. This cake was a hurry up job but it got a lot of WOWs at the reception.

What are you most proud of?

How the project turned out, The bride was Happy that she had a Groom's cake for her beloved... and he loved the cake as did most of the guys at the reception

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

If you have a idea in your head, go for it, don't be afraid to try something new. This is the first time I had made a tackle box and I think it turned out really good. I might also add that I am not a professional decorator, I have never taken a class, I have made family cakes for years and I am not afraid to try something different...
