Old quilt squares that never became a quilt!

What was your inspiration?

I couldn't bear the thought of throwing these squares away and they just seemed to go well together. It was a great quick Christmas gift! I've had these squares for years, most of the fabrics are really old friends - my clothes, my mom's, even some curtains that I made in the 70s. I love these old memories.

What are you most proud of?

My newly aquired skills of free-motion quilting. I hadn't really tried it out before. Unfortunately I couldn't figure out how to turn my first photo.... sorry. I also love Wendy's method of binding - never got such great corners before!!!!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Starting with a small piece is good practice for bigger items. I plan to work on a big quilt for my daughter soon!
