What was your inspiration?
1. My mum asked for a table runner with Autumn Colours, (not quite Autumn colours but cute). I hope she likes it.
2. She loved it but it was too long so I made this second one up for her and she found it was beter suited to her needs. I wasn't happy with this one but when I look at it closer or from a distance I am OK with it.
I did a U-Tube tutorial on Tube quilting, I made my tubes too narrow and didn't pick the right colours for the tubes. You live and learn!
What are you most proud of?
1. Had a go at stippling. For a small project like this it was good to get that experience. It is hard and my arms tensed up, forgot to breathe a couple of times.
2. I did this second one at our weekend caravan with my old sewing machine, so I didn't have an embroider foot. Therefore I stitched in the ditch - which I am not very good at.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Have a go, I did this in an afternoon. (Now I am catching up with housework!)
If at first you get it wrong - colour, size, shape, etc. try again and have fun!
