T-Shirt Quilt

Pattern Info

Pattern info for this project can be found here:

Instructions

The use of a stabilizer on each shirt was essential. Some folks choose not to use batting, but I found that I prefer batting and used "Soft and Warm."

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Men

Style: Mod, Traditional

Materials

Old t-shirts; a few Kona cotton fat quarters related to interests places lived. I managed to applique 2 cats by hand, after I quilted it. Unfortunately I didn't photograph the completed quilt.

What was your inspiration?

Seeing a t-shirt quilt a friend had made.

What are you most proud of?

I managed to figure out how it was done by reading on the web. This was my 3rd large quilt.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I think using sashing helps to set off each block/shirt. The use of 108 inch backing made it seamless, and allowed for a binding to be pulled around front, turned under and sewn.
