|Material||Buttercream, Fondant, Chocolate|
Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this cake: The box is a 9x9 square chocolate cake with peanut butter filling. The T-rex is a single layer of 6" and 8" cake for the body and the same for the head. I had to cut it down to fit the supports so the body is not very tall (less then 4 inches). I covered everything in a chocolate ganache and covered that in fondant. The arms are floral wire formed and wrapped just like in the video but I didn't use the floral tubes to hold it in the cake, just straws. I also wood for the head support and put the cake (with cake board) on the wood support (attached using carpet tape) and covered it all in fondant. It was harder and I did get some tearing on the bottom back but I like the effect (I used a "wind resistant Scripto" lighter to torch areas around the "mess-ups") and was able to use the joining line for the mouth. This was a very fun cake to make and the first 3D and first with the supports (which were not hard to make!).
