Instructions

I fussy cut every piece for this block, it took an entire afternoon. Not something for a beginner to undertake. BUT, with that said, this is a simple block, if you can do a HST and Flying Goose, you can do this block and this quilt. Very easy. I'm just getting crazy with it...lol

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Classic, Traditional

Materials

Paula Nadelstern Fabric, black Kona Cotton

What was your inspiration?

Paula Nadelstern fabric, Stack n Whack centers to replace the Lemoyne Star and the Swoon quilt block

What are you most proud of?

Happy with my fussy cutting and piecing.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Look on Flickr to see photos of other's Swoon quilts, they are lovely and all done in different styles, it's a very adaptable quilt patter for any style you like. This is just floating my boat right now.

Have fun with it and check out the Flickr site: The swooning on a hop along.

Do you use a mirror to cut your pieces. Your work is simply inspiring!

I don't use a mirror to cut them but I do use the mirror to decide placement...see my blog at http://www.sisterofthedivide.blogspot.com/2012/07/tutorial-creating-stacked-lemoyne-star.html and you can see the tutorial on how I do it.

YESSSSS! Your efforts just slay me. I'm going to have to learn to do a flying goose so I can give this a try. Well actually I've got to learn to stack and whack too :-) Great job - I'm just drooling to see the whole quilt.
