Hi, I noticed I couldn't save the page either. So, what I did was added it to my "favorites" in a folder named for it, then I opened the pattern from "favorites" and it was saved perfectly...a lot to go through maybe, but at least I got the pattern onto my pc and I can print it out any time I need to take with me. I'd love to make a few of these for myself lets face it we can't keep using plastic bags. I think a class for using up your plastic bags into crochet items that we can reuse and any other old clothing etc would be a great class to do.

Google, How to Make Plarn and you should be good to go. Once you make the plastic bags into yarn, you use it just like any yarn.

This is such a beautiful bag. I would love to make a bunch of these to replace the typical Plastic and Paper Bags. These can be laundered and they will last forever, plus are stronger than the plastic and paper put together. Thank you for sharing this pattern.

You can use any worsted weight (4 Medium) cotton yarn. You can buy such yarn at Jo-Ann Fabrics, Hobby Lobby, Michael's, Wal-Mart, Meijer, etc. You can also buy cotton yarn online at Herschnners. You may not be able to find the exact colors though.

It is not lined with anything. I sold this bag so don't know if small things fall out, but I use a much more open weave bag and don't have that problem.

I really admire the tote. Did you do make this because you crochet or because you took the class and learned.? I know how to do the stitches but never learned how to make anything other than squares and doilies. Does the bag stretch when you pack stuff in it?

I made this because I crochet. If you know the basic stitches you just need to learn too read a pattern and do exactly what it tells you to do. All my market bags were designed to stretch some so that you can fit in a lot.

when I get to repeat rows 13 - it says to ch 2, dc in next 2 sc - when I come around, it is coming into the 5 dc, not the 2 sc. Am I doing something wrong? I am afraid that if I keep going the way I am, the tote is going to come out fatter and fatter as I go up. HELP.

Beautiful tote! When I click on the link, all I get is what looks like an Excel page with columns of colors, etc., but no word instructions except Base at the beginning, and then row 13, then 14, then 13 is listed again with a different color... things like that.

I am working on the Sweet Pea Tote, when you get to round 15, it states repeat rounds 13 and 14, well round 14 is double crochets that you have just completed and then when you go to round 13 it talks about going into single crochets, is this a typo in the pattern? I am thinking you just repeat 2 rows alternating where you put the shells. Am I correct? Thanks for your help, it is a really pretty bag:)

It isn't really a typo as Rnd 13 you are going into sc but you are correct Rnd 15 on would be dc instead of sc.

Hi Linda, I don't know why it isn't working for you. Here are a couple other suggestions: You tried clicking on the 'By Designer Free!', now try clicking on the orange writing; 'Sweet Pea Tote' , beside the word pattern. Also, copy the above link and paste it into google. It took me several tries before it worked, and now it is working every time. At one point I had pasted the link onto the google tool bar and clicked on the writing somewhere by mistake and the pattern came up. By clicking on the writing I mean the words in the link ie. ....http:// tinyu....etc. I hope this works, as it is a cute tote.

That isn't the pattern, that is a color chart that has to be used in conjunction with the actual pattern, which you can get up there under Pattern.

I copied and pasted the pattern and am alittle confused - pattern is like on an excel sheet and row 1 thru 8 does not state what stitch to do?? Just states base and color. then row 9 it begins to say what stitch to do. I love this tote and would love to make it ...can I get some help with this...

I found a crochet abbreviations list on the internet to help me with patterns, and if I don't know what a certain stitch is, I try to find the youtube video to show me how to do it.

doesn't this mean "round 1 [rd1], single crochet 88 and join (usually a slip stich) to the first single crochet [sc] , "around" usually just mean keep repeating it the same stitch around until the first one...hope this helps.
