What was your inspiration?

An old english smock was of simple composition but was beautiful in execution. I used a very simple pattern and jazzed it up with spring green cable smocking and spring green ribbon edging the hemline. Made in size 2 it will look enchanting on a busy little toddler.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Patterns are in french, pictures are good but instructions, including fabric & notions needs as well as seam allowances are all in french. I used 1/2" seams.
