Cotton quilting fabric, 80/20 batting, Steam-a-Seam 2 Lite.
What was your inspiration?
Something light and sweet for a sweet girl. We enjoy baking together and making cupcakes so I thought an Irish chain would give me a few blocks to highlight with free-form cupcakes. I pieced the back with leftover blocks and the chocolate sprinkle fabric I loved after I took the Creative Quilt Backs class.
What are you most proud of?
I love the way it turned out.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Plan your free form designs on paper, lay them out and build your blocks as you go with a paper or fabric foundation to keep you "in the lines". Mostly, just have fun.!
