What was your inspiration?

I just love Sweden, so I thought one of those cute little "falu red" cottages would be perfect for a pixel quilt. However, I think the colors in this picture are far too dark and gloomy, So I'll just go on searching for a more cheerful scene - maybe with some more bright green and a blue sky?

When I first saw your photo I thought how warm and cozy the cottages looked and how they would make a beautiful quilt. Before you give up on this photo try increasing the brightness levels and play with the shadows and highlights too. I really think this photo has the potential to make an awesome quilt. Best of luck with it.

Thanks for your feedback! I guess I'll come back to this sometime towards autumn or winter - I need something more cheerful right now (I'm desperate for spring to finally arrive ;-)), but I agree that the picture isn't all too bad for a pixel quilt.
