Pattern Info

Pattern info for this project can be found here:
Duffle coat from Weekend Crochet for Babies

Instructions

This coat was surprisingly easy to make - once I got past the "Eeek, I'm crocheting a coat" factor. I got lots of practice, because the first go-round with these coasts I made them too small, had to rip them all out and start over again!

Difficulty:

Category: Crocheting

Type of item: Clothing

For: Charity

Style: Whimsical, Outdoorsy, Casual, Cute

Materials

Hand spun wool yarn

What was your inspiration?

Two very pretty little girls

What are you most proud of?

That they fit.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Measure, measure, measure, then make it bigger - they can grow into it, but if it's too small, you're screwed.

This sweater is the cover piece for the book "Weekend Crochet for Babies" by Sue Whiting. You can get it used at Amazon.com I made the hood a little bigger than the pattern tho.

Those are so cute, I like that they're a little longer than a regular cardigan, keeping little backs warm when they bend over.

I made the sleeves a little bigger at the cuff too - I am hoping that they will be able to wear them longer that way.

This sweater is the cover piece for the book "Weekend Crochet for Babies" by Sue Whiting. You can get it used at Amazon.com I made the hood a little bigger because it rains a lot here in the Pacific NW and I wanted to make sure those little heads stayed warm and dry :-)
