What was your inspiration?

I loved this traditional pattern I found in a 1992 book "Scrap Patchwork & Quilting" by Marti Michell. I used it to make this baby quilt for my second granddaughter.

What are you most proud of?

This was my first attempt at applique. I learned this technique, and thought that embroidery really added to this pattern. All quilting was by hand.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I used a bright light under tracing I'd made on plastic and the fabric squares so I could trace placement of pieces and embroidery details.
