What advice would you give someone starting this project?
I made this top out of a two gently used shirts: a XL man's Harley Davidson tee (the grey bodice - I cut below the logo and words :) and a top I bought at a yard sale last summer. I love the sleeveless version and used the skirt fabric to 'cuff' the arm openings.
I had to tweak the pattern quite a bit, as I am very long (tall), and really, this is probably more of a muslin than anything else, but it is still wearable. I made it to wear to dance lesson classes over leggings and/or yoga pants, b/c I want the flexibility of knits and something sleeveless over which I can wear a sweater until I get warmed up. I love this pattern for this purpose.
I really like this class and enjoy Meg. I LOVE using the clear elastic, something I'd never done until now. I will be using it in lots of my creations, I'm sure. Thanks Meg, for giving me the info to more successfully use and enjoy knits! I'm searching my stash of fabrics/used clothing for knits now. :)
