This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Sewing With Knits: 5 Wardrobe Essentials »

Instructions

I thought the slippery fabric would be difficult to sew, but it wasn't. I added a panel in the front so I wouldn't have to wear a tank with it.

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Clothing

For: Women

Style: Casual

Materials

A slippery knit fabric with a pretty striking pattern that I bought on-line, manmade material

What was your inspiration?

The suprlice dress lesson and the fabric I had on hand which required alot of pattern matching while I was cutting it out.

What are you most proud of?

That it fits well.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Take the craftsy sewing with knits course and don't be afraid of knit fabrics anymore.

This Top looks gorgious! I never tried to sew knit ware - but maybe I'll give it a try, after I finished my planed projects ...

You should give it a try - it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be once you learn the techniques.

Thanks! I just cut a rectangle out of the fabric and folded it in half, wrong sides together - maybe about 5" x 5" when folded. Then I placed it in the triangular opening and stitched it in by just followed the top stitching that was done when the elastic was sewn into the neck. After it was in place, I trimmed the excess fabric to tidy up the seam.
