Dusty rose jersey knit

What was your inspiration?

I just loved both versions of the dress that Meg made for the class. I had this dusty rose jersey, and was waiting for the right project to come along.

What are you most proud of?

How fast I whipped this up. I cut it out last night and stitched the shoulders and neckline. Then this morning, with a cup of coffee, I finished the dress in what seemed like no time! The finished dress is very cozy, I'm sure I'll wear it lots.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

This is a very easy, flattering dress, give it a try!

Looks truly great! I'm almost finished the scoop neck tee for this class, looking forward to this dress too. May I ask: are you wearing a shirt/cami or did you sew a piece into e front?

It's a pink cami. I also made a gray Surplice dress with a longer hem, but have been lazy about taking a photo. Good luck on your dress! :)

Wow that came out great! It motivates me to try this pattern asap! Can you tell me what kind of fabric you used and where you got it? I am new to shopping for knit fabrics :)

Thanks! I got this cotton jersey from fashion fabrics club (online). I just searched for cotton jersey on the site. Two other great sources I've been using are fabric.com, their Laguna jersey is excellent, and Girl Charlee is another excellent website for knits. I think for this dress you would be looking for cotton jersey with a small amount of Lycra (or spandex) to help with stretch ability and recovery. Good luck on your dress! Can't wait to see. :)

It was very quick and easy. The video explains the process perfectly. I only wish I had bought the Bernina 380 instead of the 330, it doesn't have any stretch stitches. Bummer. The zig zag seems to work okay though.
