What was your inspiration?
I wanted to make a special backpack for a friend who loved to surf so I designed this for him
What are you most proud of?
The Big Wave came from an old Japanese woodcut and translated very nice to embroidery. The surfboard arrangement came from a suggestion from my husband to stack them up like the NBC peacock--which I found effective. The seagull came from a photograph of of a real seagull..
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
