Type of item: Accessory

Style: Romantic, Classic, Formal / Bridal

Materials

Knit Picks Palette yarn in orange, US #5 bamboo needles, stitch markers

What was your inspiration?

I wanted to broaden my skills and try new things so I volunteered to test knit this pattern.

What are you most proud of?

That I actually finished the project, months after it was due. I learnt that I'm not a test knitter, but it was still good to finish this. I also didn't like the original color of the yarn so I dyed the finished shawl using Wilton Food Dyes and Vinegar at home, to get this vivid orange color.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

It's a very easy lovely pattern but because of the thin yarn and small needles, it's going to take a while to finish. Make this one of your long term projects that you keep coming to and don't get frustrated if you don't finish immediately. The finished product will be worth it.

Beautiful! I admire your tenacity to complete the project. Knitting tends to work up slowly, but the results are worth the time spent.

Where do you find the patterns on this site?

I don't think this site is hosting patterns as yet (I could be wrong). To get this particular pattern, scroll to the top of this page. Under "Make this project", click on "Tree and Arbor Wrap" and it will take you to the designer's page. Please let me know if this works.

Love this Sunset Tree & Arbor Wrap. One of my favorite colors also. This will be a challenge for me because I've never made something like this. Hope I can handle it & that my dog doesn't get jealous when I knit this. Looks like I'm going to have to pay close attention to what I'm doing.

It's not too bad, kokeanut. It goes pretty fast and after a few repeats, the pattern becomes pretty intuitive and easy to remember.

At last I found a lace pattern to learn on. I was wondering could a circular needle be used? same needle size.

yes it would be great for a wedding, especially in a light colored silk or silk blend yarn. you could even use laceweight yarn for a lighter stole.

You know, I had just had a new baby, and I was knitting a lot of other projects alongside this one, so it took me a couple of months. The pattern repeat is about 30-40 rows, so I think if you could finish a pattern repeat in 2-3 days, you would be able to finish this in a month or less, providing you don't jump onto other projects like I do. :)

Definitely something I am going to have to try. I also love the rich orange color. I think one thing I will definitley have to do is to use is a life line. You know just in case... great job though. Again I really love it.
