Here's a free pattern for a simple baby teething toy. I make these to look like sunflowers but you can make them in any color!
This pattern takes very little yarn. You will need the following supplies:
G Hook
Approximately 3 oz of yarn
Polyfiberfill
Flower Center:
Make two
CH 4 and form ring
R1 - CH 2 and then stitch 11 HDC in the ring. This will give you a total of 12 HDC in the ring. Join and CH 2.
R2 - 2 HDC in each stitch around. Join and CH 2.
R3 - HDC in first stitch. 2 HDC in the next stitch. HDC in the next two stitches. Continue to increase every third stitch until you reach the starting point. Join and CH 2.
R4 - HDC in first stitch. 2 HDC in the next stitch. HDC in the next two stitches. Continue to increase every third stitch until you reach the starting point. Join and tie off.
Flower Petal:
Join the two flower centers with the back sides together on the inside. You are going to stitch the two parts together.
Join the flower petal yarn at the starting point and then 3 TC in each until the opening is about one inch. At this point, stuff the flower center with polyfiberfill. Then, continue with 3 TC in each stitch until you reach the starting point. Join and tie off.
That's it!! - So Simple.

What was your inspiration?
I wanted to make a soft, washable teether for my granddaughter. This is also large enough for her to hold comfortably in her little hands.
What are you most proud of?
I can get them done very quickly.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Very easy..... just get started.
