Materials

Pre-made shirring (top shirring only, not the kind with the extra fabric at the bottom) and some miscellaneous fabric I picked up at my local fabric store.

What was your inspiration?

I love shirring but my machine hasn't been kind to me with my attempts to do it myself. When my local fabric store got some of this shirring in stock for the first time ever and it was on sale, I knew I had to try this. I knew just looking at it that I wanted to make a tunic length top with it.

What are you most proud of?

There was no pattern with this, I just kinda winged it. I love how it turned out and it looks fabulous on my daughter.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

This was super easy. It's just the top shirring and I sewed a rectangle of fabric to the bottom, added some straps and I was done.
