Mystery Crochet Along #3 Purse Theme »

Lion 100% cotton, 4-ply worsted-weight yarn, color: Banana

What was your inspiration?

This was my first Mystery Crochet Along, and it was so much fun! I chose the yellow yarn because: 1) I hoped I would like the result enough to give the purse to a good friend for her birthday, and yellow is one of her favorite colors, and 2) it was the only cotton worsted weight yarn I had enough of in my stash.

What are you most proud of?

The lining was not part of the project pattern. I added it without instructions, just figured it out myself (I am a quilter, too, so sewing doesn't intimidate me).

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Try something new and exciting (and mysterious even)! You never know what you'll end up with, and it may knock your socks off.

You're right, Tripsy! That blog is no longer active. I will post the instructions in another comment. Fortunately, I saved them in a Word file :)

Thank you for posting the directions. I went to the site but it changed and the only mystery crochet I could find was from September and I think it was a bird? I didn't read it all the way through, lol! Thanks again!

I posted it here, but all the formatting was lost. You'll have to copy and paste into a Word document and reformat to make it more readable. Because the MCAL (Mystery Crochet Along) was so long ago, it's hard to find on the original website. They posted partial instructions each day, so a good place to break up the long paragraph below is at Day 1, Day 2, etc. I'm making a second purse in blue, not quite done, still have to line it. I love the pattern. Have fun!
