This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Sassy Librarian Blouse »

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Clothing

For: Women

Style: Retro / Vintage, Cute, Funky, Classic

Materials

Tied dyed cotton for the blouse and fuchsia pink cotton silk for the collar.

What was your inspiration?

This piece of material was giving to me in a stash swap and it had a real sixties feel. Well anyway I'd been wanting to make a cute and quirky blouse for me for ages and when I saw Christine's course come up it was a happy marriage :)

What are you most proud of?

How well finished it looks and the button placement down the front looks reasonably accurate. As well it's the first blouse I've ever made. I tend to steer clear of buttons down the front because when I buy RTW because I'm well endowed everything tends to look gaping but this blouse sits beautifully.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

just go stage by stage like the lessons suggest and don't be afraid to use your seam ripper. I had to take the sleeves off once and it wasn't the the end of the world as Christine says. You'll be really pleased with how professional it looks when you're finished.

What a pretty blouse, love the fabric color on you too. The contrasting collar is a nice touch, good fit and the button placement looks professional!

FUN! Your fabric choices are super summer of fun indeed! I'm so glad you were able to go stage by stage and see that problems aren't such a big deal! Well done!
