Finished my Jacket Express, yeah! I made this in 100% linen, for those over air conditioned rooms, or summer nights when the temps starts to cool down. I had to modify the XXS pattern a lot for my narrow shoulders though, by taking in 2 1/2" through the back yoke and shortening it by 1 1/2" had to resize the pocket bags! For "Summer Nights" I chose not to put buttons on the flaps as I thought it would look too busy. I think the next jacket I'll move the shoulders up even more, take in more across the back and make the sleeves and cuffs narrower. I have some handspun, handwoven, indigo dyed hemp fabric from Viet Nam that is crying to be made into a blue jean jacket. This pattern will be perfect for it. Learning the techniques of sewing with no pins was great. I've already applied the techniques to a knit top.....managed to put in a high capped full sleeve without pins....absolutely great experience! My fingers thank you Janet! Looking forward to the advanced class! Vikki

Great idea to use linen for those air conditioned building in Florida. It will wear well and always be comfortable too. Great Job!! Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Janet, for the compliment.....but the a/c buildings are here in Ottawa, Canada!

Beautiful job, and a great choice of fabric! I lived in Ottawa back in the early 70s, and I know how hot it can get in the summer (not to mention brutally cold in the winter!).

Thank you very much! I've just finished (well....still have to find buttons) another version, so once the buttons have been done, I'll post it too. Hope you're having success with your jacket.
