What was your inspiration?

My daughter has outgrown all her dresses so it was time to make new ones. I fell in love with this pattern on Make It and Love It. My daughter picked out the fabric and as soon as I saw what fabric she picked, I knew it would be for this dress.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I suggest making the waistband casing just a little bit bigger (height). I found it to be really tight so it was very difficult to squeeze the elastic through. Also, give yourself a little extra length in the shoulder straps. It's easier to reduce than to have them be too short and have to re-cut.
