What was your inspiration?

My inspiration for this block was remember what Summers were like growing up. My grandmother always put pinwheels all over her front yard and I loved to sit there on the steps and watch them. That is the inspiration for the center of this block. The outer edge of the block reminded me of the planters on her porch that I use to help her put flowers in. I used the colors in the first block to represent water because I spent almost every day of the Summer at the pool with my friends growing up.

What are you most proud of?

I really like that this block looks complicated, but is really quite easy to assemble. I'm very happy with the finished product.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

It is okay to get the seam ripper out and resew to get your points right.
