That is by far the most realistic sugar paste rose I have seen! You have out done the "Experts". I can do Lodge's rose and won't take that coarse but if you taught your rose, would pay for that class.

Lovely, it so detailed it almost looks likes a real rose! And I can't believe it's made out of gum-paste!

Wow! Hard to believe it's gumpaste. I've never veined my rose petals before, but I think I can see the value in doing so...stunning.

How thin do you roll out your paste? Do you have a problem with the petals breaking when handling?

Hi, this rose is stunning - I'm obsessed at the moment - trying to perfect mine! May I ask, what cutters/size did you use, are the petals wired or loose? and how do you get the petals to look so open and such a lovely shape? Sorry for all the questions. I'm on a mission lol Many thanks, Emma x

That's OK Emma. I used Tinkertech cutters 549 and 550 along with Orchard Five Petal flower cutter F6C. You start with the five petal cutter and work out about 3 or 4 rows and then shift to the individual petals which are then wired. I used SK Great Impressions Tea Rose Veiner and added extra movement through curling the petals back with a cocktail stick. The instructions are in both of Paddi Clark's books, although I personally would recommend her second book 'More Sugar Flowers' as I think the other flowers in the book are more current, such as Peony, lisianthus, Casablanca Lily, Hellebore, etc.
