StyleARC patterns (based in Melbourne AU) are just the best and very quick and easy to contruct. I used a sublime Viscose/Elastane knit from Sckafs Fabrics in Brisbane (for the red top). I have been trying to find the same fabric in chololate brown but nothing matches the buttery/silky drape of this fabric.
What was your inspiration?
I bought a beautiful Modal knit cardigan from Sportscraft and wanted a simple knit top (short/no sleeves) for underneath. Of course I could not find one and decided I could make one from the many patterns I have in my stash. The cowl neckline sits beautifully too. Next on my list is to copy the Sportscraft cardigan!
What are you most proud of?
This was instant gratification and I did not have to make any major adjustments. A great project for a beginner.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Just check your arm circumference against the armhole opening to ensure that this is going to fit. And buy a jersey twin needle for your hems. I also used 'steam a seam' for all the hems - this makes sewing the hems so much easier with no ripples or movement. (This tape is 2 sided and simple to use)
And if you haven't yet tried a StyleARC pattern, do yourself a favour and buy one...you'll keep on going back for more!
