Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Stupendous Stitching: Adventures in Surface Design »

Instructions

I chose not to mount this on a frame, instead I used Ami Sim's corners method to hang the project http://www.alzquilts.org/sleeve.html

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Materials

various trims, embroidery thread, cording, batik fabric, fleece batting

What was your inspiration?

The instructor, Carol, gave us lots of inspiration by showing her works. The batik fabric I chose was the jumping off point for this project.

What are you most proud of?

I'm very much a traditional quilter, this is my first piece where I just let the stitching and colours go with whimsy! Its a real change from my usual quilted pieces, and I'm proud of taking advantage of the freedom this work gives.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Have fun and don't be scared!

Love your background fabric. Did you hand dye it?
