Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Mod, Hipster, Ethnic, Funky

Materials

hand-dyed batik, thread, yarn, rattail cord

What was your inspiration?

I love working with color and texture on fabric. I also love working intuitively -- no planning and no stress. This project satisfied all my needs as an artist!

What are you most proud of?

How people looking at my art can't stop staring wondering "how did she do that?"

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Relax and just have fun trying couching, decorative machine stitching and, of course, hand embroidery. Remember, there are no rules and there are no mistakes!

I would like to order your Book and threads kit. I haven't been able to pull the craftsy products kit up yet. What am I doing wrong?

Really, really looking forward to taking this class! I already enrolled, just waiting to get home to my laptop and sewing machine instead of just watching using my iPad ;)

I like the freedom that you express in this piece of art. No rules and no mistakes, gives such a liberating feeling.

It is liberating! And, there is no pattern to follow and no plan to make. Each line give the piece more texture and and you decide what to do with color and stitch along the way!

I'm actually going to teach a class in this technique for Craftsy, starting mid December. It's a lot of fun!
