This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Stupendous Stitching: Adventures in Surface Design »

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Funky

Materials

batiks, cotton batting, wonder under, threads, threads and more threads :)

What was your inspiration?

I had this pretty purple/pink lined fabric and thought it would be fab with the couching and thread play...

What are you most proud of?

I received my stupendous stitching starter kit from Carol's website and I loved all of the couching stuff so I dove right in and started playing - then I started using the threads she sent and once more had a blast..now in the quilting phase - still figuring out what looks good - and will definitely add some bling (my favorite things to add to my quilts) and then we will see how it looks

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Take your time and don't worry - I started stitching with a thread that wasn't doing it for me and like Carol says, stitch over it, or in my case, I picked a different color and went on.. we will see how it turns out

This is really interesting. Did you insert the darker purple stripes or is that your base fabric? Love all the extra hand embroidery.
