Here are some details about my project:
Category Quilting
Type Home Decor

What materials did you use? Cotton batik, various threads, decorative stitches (machine and hand), beads

What are you most proud of? Letting go of perfection and creating on the fly. I also love that this piece can hang in any position - so I virtually have 4 pictures with one piece.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? I had trouble with the fabric pulling inward when using my machine decorative stitches. It gave the piece a little more texture, which was OK. I am planning to use a different stabilizer next time or 2 layers of the recommended stabilizer to see if that eliminates the problem.

Wow! Thanks everyone for the positive feedback. Quilter411 and Sewpippy, I'm sure you will have as much fun as I did creating your own art piece. Carol is a stupendous teacher :) She really encourages spontaneous creating as "there are no mistakes". It is very freeing and empowering. I loved this class.
