Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Stupendous Stitching: Adventures in Surface Design »

Instructions

I have been back at sewing for quite a few years now, and am comfortable with most of the techniques Carol Ann is presenting. What I'm reallly enjoying about this class is rediscovering the fun of just creating something, without regard for whether 'the points match'! While the results look like the course is 'advanced'. the way Carol Ann is presenting it, it is very much a beginning course.

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Whimsical, Casual

Materials

One of the items I used for couching is some spun silk yarn that is 'mill waste', from a factory in Katmandu. The things one has in our stash! This is my project with the decorative stitching completed, before playing around with the hand embroidery.

What was your inspiration?

I have been needing a cover for my Nook Tablet for awhile, and decided this would be a fun project to create the fabric for it.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Just play!

I love your background. Now I have to go and search eBay for some spun silk mill waste!
