This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Stupendous Stitching: Adventures in Surface Design »

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Home

Style: Funky, Mod, Whimsical

Materials

cotton fabric, floss, ribbon, buttons, beads, etc.

What was your inspiration?

Our instructor was so inspirational, so freeing, she gave me the courage to "just do it" and not to worry about "mistakes" - they actually do work themselves out!

What are you most proud of?

From a most conservative quilter, especially when it comes to color choices, this course made me explore texture, patterns and color - never had the courage to do this on my own - thanks!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

No advice, just try it and enjoy!

Wow! Signing up for this class. Wanting to create a Stitch Bible as well as learning to incorporate the additional 300+ stitches on my machine when sewing or quilting! :) Thanks for the inspiring and lovely project!

Thanks Carol. It's actually a butterfly (and butterflies are "appropriately" free - almost as good as "a bug"). Really enjoyed your class - well paced, fun and very inspiring!

This cover is so lovely! Is that a bug on the front or a flower (can't really see the detail). Because if it's a bug, that is hilarious! (Keeping the bugs outside the computer is always a great idea!!!) Congrats for breaking out of your comfort zone.
