I found out that ribbon at the edge will ravel at the edge and I had stitched the fabric it with too many close stitches, BEFORE we put all the layers together, but hey, there are no mistakes...(I LOVE THAT!) One learns as they "do". Not too shabby for my first attempt! My friends have gone ga-ga over it! I really enjoyed your class. I just retired in February and am trying to get back into sewing, new things and techniques. I did NOT know that thread could be wound in the spool at the edge of the spool (then clamped down)...until I saw you do it in class. It has been THAT LONG! I still have cotten thread marked 39 cents from the 80's! I kept trying to find the little "cut" to seal my thread. It's all changed. The types and amounts of threads, materials (since the 80's) is absolutely AMAZING! My Bernina is from the 80's and only has 15 stitches, but I made a great stitch bible with variations. The Bernina is like Maytag - just runs and run and runs! A worthy investment! Thanks again Carol Ann!
