What materials did you use? Silk, cotton/polyester backing fabric, organza, sparkly net, Anchor threads, very fine needle, petite beads, modelling dough, small piece stuffing, felt pens, fine wire, larger and 4" wooden hand embroidery hoops.

What are you most proud of? That I didn't just copy the Cicely Mary Barker zinnia flower fairy, but embroidered it how I liked to make it my own.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? The wings are made separately in a small hoop. The organza is embroidered onto wire, but you must leave sufficient wire ends to be able to pierce the main background fabric and fold them neatly underneath your fabric on the reverse side so they can be stitched down then cut shorter. Check this stumpwork technique first if you are unsure.
