Stripes and Lace Betty Panties

Make It

This project was made from an independent Craftsy designer's pattern:
The Betty High Waist Panties »

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Clothing

For: Women

Style: Retro / Vintage, Traditional, Classic

Materials

A somewhat stable knit striped fabric, stretch lace, and lingerie elastic.

What was your inspiration?

I sewed these in the early summer and thought they had a nautical feel.

What are you most proud of?

Again, I like the fabric combo and the smoothness of the knit fabric.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Read the sew along posts at http://afewthreadsloose.blogspot.com and http://ohhhlulu.blogspot.com for some good tips on sewing this bra up. I like using a woven fabric for a little support in the front and using the knit in the side panels for comfort.

I love LOVE these. I've been working on an underwear pattern recently and getting the fit right is so hard. Love how you used the 2 different types of fabric. These look fantastic.

Thanks a lot! I got the stretch lace a Hancock Fabrics. The stripe is a stable vintage knit. Have you tried the Betty Pattern? The only fit alteration I needed was to lower the back waist a smidge. It is a great pattern.
