What was your inspiration?
I wanted to try the Quilt as you go blocks and thought the String Block I learnt on the Crafsty BOM 2012 course was perfect for it. Also I need to make more scatter cushions for my daughter and myself.
What are you most proud of?
I am very happy with how they turned out and how quickly I got them done.
I would like to put a covered button in the centre of the X cushion but decided against it as little Lily-Kate could decide it looks good to eat!!!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Try doing the Quilt as you go... it is so easy and quick. Like the disappearing 9patch, the string block has so many variations and it was fun trying to mix and match the fabrics.
However, I found that it was quite difficult to be point perfect with these blocks as I was working with the three layers. Some of my points are a bit off but I am still happy with my little cushions:)
