Quilting: straight line wonky stars
4 kudoz

straight line wonky stars

Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Unisex

Style: Cute, Whimsical

Materials

batik and flannel batik

What was your inspiration?

This is a quilt I made from scraps from an "around the world" and a "square within a square" exchange I did years ago. I saw the idea for straight line continuous wonky stars in an issue of Love of Quilting magazine, I don not remember which month.

What are you most proud of?

That I finished it, I suppose. I have a bit of a quilting phobia although I like piecing. I need to do more quiltilng and need to start practicing the free motion quilting.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

this is easy. I don't have a walking foot as the one I mail ordered for my janome does not fit, I used a standard foot for this small project.

You used a good idea with the quilting. I don't have a free-motion foot either. I've been worried about what to do for my first quilt. That's rather clever... :)

thank you. It is very easy, but you have to be able to move the quilt around quite a little bit.

thank you. I loved the flannel batik. It was on sale at our local quilt store, I wish I'd bought the whole bolt.
