What a great idea to make a purse. I love making items of art into something very useful also.. I am taking the class now and haven't yet started my project but I just might think of making a purse or a piece of clothing, or...who knows.

I actually sewed the squares down to the backgroud fabric. On the close up pix of the individual squares, you may be able to see that I slashed all the way around the small center square so you can see the background & allow for more 3-D effect

I love this. Did you make the squares and then sew them onto the pink bag or is the whole bag stiched and slashed? It's very attractive and such a nice application of this technique.
