Instructions

Use buttons, beads, etc. but make sure that the items you use will not catch on and snag your work.

Difficulty:

Category: Crocheting

Type of item: Functional

For: Other

Style: Whimsical, Cute, Funky

Materials

Lobster-claw jewelry clasp, buttons, glass beads, wire.

What was your inspiration?

I needed stitch markers, and the ones I purchased from the local chain craft store broke the first time I tried to use them.

What are you most proud of?

That I was able to produce cute, functional markers easily, and for less money than I spent on the original commercially-produced markers.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Pick out some cute buttons or beads and give it a try. And if you use wire to assemble, make sure all of your wire ends are tucked in!

These are really great stitch makers. I used these same buttons to make book markers a couple of years ago. The colors are fantastic!
