Hiya! The motif is Buddhist. In English we usually call it the 'Wish Fulfilling Jewel." It has no strict definition and is used in many ways, but in general it refers to the Dharma, or Buddhist teachings. The idea of jewel is because jewels are images of beautiful seeing through clarity. This one looks vaguely lotus like, and the lotus is another common Buddhist motif.
