Instructions
I made this after watching the first lesson in Sarah Fielke's class -- and liked the technique so much I decided to go bigger (now a lap quilt, this soon will be a Christmas gift). Sarah's instruction is fabulous!Difficulty:

Materials
I used quilting cottons from my stash: a few Tula Pink Parisville prints, one of Sarah Fielke's From Little Things prints, some Anna Maria Horner Innocent Crush and a light purple geometric that I think was Robert Kaufman. The plum and lavdender solids are Kona.
What was your inspiration?
One of the things on my holiday present to-do list was a pink and/or purple quilt for a family friend. I used this as an opportunity to play with the "step-down" technique taught in Sarah's class!
What are you most proud of?
I love the play of colour in this project, especially the pops of cerise (the deep, rich plum).
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
The piecing looks a little mind-boggling, simply because it isn't following the usual grid of patchwork, but it's much easier than it appears. Sarah's instructions are excellent.
