What are you most proud of? When it came to designing this bag and the designs, I'm most proud of finding a way to teach so many designs in a small space. It's sometimes hard to break up a quilt and showcase lots of filler designs, but for this class we learn 50 with 4 tote bag panels.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? PRACTICE! If you're absolutely struggling with stem centered designs, and feathers in particular, do understand that these shapes take practice to master stitching on a home sewing machine. Practicing on charity quilts, baby quilts, or just ugly fabric you're going to throw away - no matter where you do it, the more you do it, the better you will get.

Leah, I'm looking for ideas on how to tackle corners so I'm looking at the black border and thinking this could be one a newbie like myself could tackle. Then I see lots of stops and starts, but I think I just figured it out! Did you tackle each edge separately by starting on say the inside edge, head toward the center, then travel stitch back? Then repeat that process on the outer edge?
