Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Big Techniques from Small Scraps »

Instructions

Use your design wall and keep a keen eye on balance.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Casual, Funky

Materials

100% quilting cottons and batiks

What was your inspiration?

I'm a piano teacher and my student and I traded lessons for yards of batiks. I had a hankering to use purple and teal and whenever I can use polka dots, I try to work them in.

What are you most proud of?

I let the unexpected happen and I loved the results.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Practice the stars on scrap fabric. They take a while to get the hang of it.

This is great...and I don't know how anybody, ahem...could be ho-hum about it. I think your in-house critic needs to wake up! (;

Beautiful. I started making mine but wasn't happy with my fabric choices. I love yours, it came out great.

As is often the case, I was unsure about my fabric choices until I quilted it. My husband is very ho hum about this quilt. He doesn't care for the colors.
