What was your inspiration?
My inspiration was the flag. This was a very simple Square in a Square block that was accentuated with the quilting. "Stars & Stripes Forever" is quilted in the long border, and stars and stripes are quilted all around. Individual stars surrounded by stripes are quilted into each block and stars are quilted into the corners.
What are you most proud of?
I'm most proud of all the hand-quilting. Almost every inch of this wall hanging is hand-quilted. I remember my fingers being very sore (and calloused!) by the time I finished this quilt. You can see on the backing photo how heavily quilted it is!
