Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Children

Style: Geeky, Retro / Vintage, Cute, Casual

Materials

Licensed Star Wars fabrics (quilting cotton and cotton flannel).

What was your inspiration?

My SO's son needed a blanket to snuggle up with, but nothing too heavy, because he lives in a tropical climate. We found this great Star Wars woven cotton fabric (he's a huge fan) and put flannel on the back to give the blanket a little body. We quilted the layers together around the repeated whole comic book. It is also bound in flannel. Super cuddly. Now I just need to convince the SO to give it up for his son. ;)

What are you most proud of?

Coming up with a quilt that *might* not be too hot to snuggle with in a tropical climate.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I washed the fabrics first, because they are two different weights/textures. It was a super easy and fast project, so this might be something that you take on just to be able to finish something quickly.

We found it at Joann, but they are running out quickly. We bought the last couple of yards of that fabric (my favorite of the bunch), and a couple of other prints. They seem to have more available in fleece. I went searching and found some more on etsy and ebay. Everybody is running out already! I want more. :)
