Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Design It, Quilt It: Free-Form Techniques »

Instructions

make sure your background fillers use threads that match the fabric.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Women

Style: Classic

Materials

cotton, cotton and wool batting, miscellaneous decorative threads.

What was your inspiration?

Just trying out a new stencil - the star. I experimented with different types of threads also.

What are you most proud of?

I love the rays that come out of the star with the scribbling in the shadows.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Try these quilting techniques out on a small quilt that you can then use as a pillow or wallhanging, even as an example of your work.

Your work is amazing..can I be vice-president of your fan club? I loved the whole piece, especially the shadow scribbling in the cathedral windows. You need to submit this one in a contest.

I just saw your other projects and you used so many different things in this one than you did in the other. Love the rays, oh dear, there is no part I don't love. I really need to be president of your fan club.
