Stack and Whack

Instructions

My friend taught me how to do this.

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Women

What was your inspiration?

I made this wall hanging/table topper as a gift for my mother. I had always wanted to try this technique, and a friend taught me to do it while I was visiting her.

What are you most proud of?

I'm actually not very proud of this project, because one of the squares did not line up correctly at all. I think it's okay for a first attempt. I do like the colors and fabrics, though.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Don't get too frustrated if things don't line up exactly the first try.

Hi - I did post my stack and whack a couple of weeks ago. In case you missed it, you can look at my account here. or under projects at Block of the Month perhaps. I did show the original fabric, which was fun

This quilt is such an inspiration for me...I am a beginning quilter, and looking at this beautiful quilt, I wonder if I'll ever be able to tackle a project like this...it looks sooooo complicated! But I absolutely love it, so it is now my inspiration for my journey in quilting!!! Thanks for posting it!

This is actually rather simple...most of the precision is in the cutting.

I love Stack and Whack. Would love to see a pic of the original fabric. I want to post one of my old ones, soon. Just to have people see how the crazier the fabric, the more interesting the block. Your choice is really sweet.

I don't have much of the fabric left, mostly bits and pieces, but I will try to post it some time

Very nice and very bright. Your are very clever using all those triangles. I avoid triangles if I can
