Two down and how many to go? Are you going to do the full afghan?

No, I'm making a baby blanket, so 2 squares and borders should make it the right size!

Is your square on the left blocked? The one on the right is curled about like mine. I'm having a heck of time with it. Very disappointed in this project so far.

Idid the class with a girlfriend who knits tight and she had a lot more trouble with it. I knit loose so it wasn't a problem. And I did two squares with borders, not six. My mind was wandering!

I steamed them as I went and they turned out great! I did six squares instead of a full afghan, then crocheted around the edges. I sent it up to a cousin who had a baby girl, so it was a good size

Steam...will give it a go, I know someone or rather several asked her about blocking and she told everyone not to, which made no sense to me. I don't knit tight, but found the mix of stitches made the knitting tighter then normal for me. I bumped up my needle size one so maybe that will help. Also am altering the pattern. While working the center square am not starting or ending any rows with slip stitches, so that should eliminate holes and or the nasty ridge you get when you pick up father down to avoid the holes. I got 4 garters seems to lay better so far. Did you wet a towel and lay it on the top then iron your square, or did you wet the square? Which method did you use for your steaming?
