What advice would you give someone starting this project? Using couture techniques take time and effort but SO worth the process. Be patient and enjoy the satisfaction you'll have when you complete your project.

Looks great! The back pleats are spot on. Really nice work.

Wow, you look like a princess in that beautiful dress. Out of curiosity, how many hours did you spend on it? I assume you had help with the fitting. Gorgeous, and I love the purple. You do things for that pattern style. Congratulations on a fabulous project. Kay

Thank you Kay! To be honest I lost count how many hours I spent. I stayed up thru the wee hours of the night for several nights to complete this dress. Yes, I did three fittings for my daughter before cutting ino the real fabric. I plan to make her another one in a cotton piqu fabric in a above the knee length.

This project is lovely! I purchased this course and have watched it twice. I hope to start my own project after the first of the year. I love the style of your Spring Formal Dress; did you use the course pattern and alter it? Thanks for the tips, Peg

11/15/2013 Flag

Yes. I just used a different pattern. I applied all techniques of the course to this pattern. This course brought my sewing to a whole different level.

I hope to raise my garment sewing skills to a higher level, too. I'll keep you posted!
